... a mom's weekend. Let's be clear. St. Edward's favorite week, Mom's Weekend, is April 5th to April 7th. Moms, we are busy preparing for that special and magical weekend. Yet, it seems that one Steds mom was a bit too excited and in the words of Fonzie from Happy Days, jumped the shark. Anntheresa Buckendorf, mother of Stedsmen Jake and Derek, was spotted on campus this past weekend. But she wasn't jumping the shark as everyone thought but rather was on campus here to attend a series of lectures by a visiting priest Fr. Mike Schmitz. Listening to both his Catechism in a Year as well as Bible in a Year, Buckendorf made the trip from Colorado to Notre Dame to see Fr. Schmitz in-person. And when she wasn't listen to Fr. Schmitz, Buckendorf was with son Derek and his friends, enjoying fresh homemade cookies, bowling and more. On her recent visit to Notre Dame, Buckendorf shared, "Getting ready for Mom’s weekend. This is how we roll!'"
