Saturday's Squirrel.

A Goldenrod Soldier Beetle

With the Indian summer now over and temperatures returning to where they should be for fall, everything is fading. The vibrant and rich colors of summer are passing into faded and muted tones. In the air there is a smell of leaves and a slight chill. And the sun is setting faster and faster. It’s time for fall. But before creation takes a brief exit for winter, we continue to take stock of what surrounds us. On the Black-Eyed Susans outside of Corby Hall, Fr. Terry Ehrman, C.S.C., botanist, theologian, and naturalist, spotted and captured this insect. On seeing it, Fr. Terry said, “It's amazing what you can overlook if you are in a rush. Slow down, and take it in. Soon, it all will be gone!"

Has he...

Conway in the middle with the biggest smile

...been turned? Who lead him astray from the Blue and Gold? What more could we have done for him and did not do? What happened? Why is Brian Conway '12 hold up a Penn State banner? Well, it’s a long story.

In short, Penn State recently held its annual All-University Day during Georgia State weekend. During that game, each Commonwealth campus from Altoona to Shenango was recognized.  Just after the band performed at halftime, Conway and other student representatives held flags on the field emblazoned with their home campuses. While such a task would typically be reserved for the President or Vice President Conway of PSU Graduate and Professional Student Association, neither could attend. The rules of succession deemed Conway, the Speaker of the Assembly, next in line.  After practicing his wave for a week, Conway had all of about 3 minutes to take in the view of 107k cheering PSU fans from the field before security shuffled him off the field.

On the experience, Conway said, "I may have been wearing blue and white that day, but I bleed blue and gold... and wear green shoes! Go Irish!"

Not only a patron...

Come to the theater!

...but also an artist in his own right Fr. Ralph is. In addition to being the rector of Notre Dame's oldest and most storied residence hall, Fr. Ralph is also a consultant at University Relations, and it is there that he was a part of group who devise the creation of one man play about Fr. Sorin all for the 175th anniversary of the University's founding. Entitled Sorin: A Notre Dame Story, the play can be seen almost every weekend at Notre Dame, and it's all free! Can't make it Notre Dame, no worries. The play will come to you! Yes, that's right. The play is hitting the road, visiting Notre Dame clubs around the country for the next two years.

On the play, Fr. Ralph said, "In the beginning, I wasn't sure this was going to work. A one man play? No thank you! But in all honesty, this play has exceeded all of my expectations, and I have learned much from it. Of course, I made sure that St. Edward's played prominently in this work...how could I not?! I encourage everyone to see it. And I am volunteering to join the cast and crew when the play visits the ND clubs in Miami and Orange County."

A blast...

Oh, wisdom from 1941!

...from the past. It's BACK... and oh, the golden nuggets it holds! Thanks to Neil Sielski '15, we have an insight into Notre Dame's past. Through a patient, Sielski came into possession of the Notre Dame Student Manual from 1941.

This week's installment from the 1941 Notre Dame Student Manual, page 13:

"All sophomores must secure credit for Biology 7- Elementary Hygiene- a course of lectures and demonstrations- given one period a week through the school year."

Now, only if they had "Elementary Room Cleaning"- a course of lectures and demonstrations on how to keep a clean room by taking out trash, changing of bed linens, and cleaning of the room sink!

ND Day...

Jack Kill modeling the new catcher's equipment

...funds at work! As funds continue to be dispersed, improvements are being seen inside and outside of the Hall. Another improvement thanks to Notre Dame Day funds raised this past spring has been the outfitting of the Steds baseball squad. Funds were used to purchase belts, bright yellowish gold, as well as a proper uniform for the catcher. From helmet to shin guards to a chest protector, the Steds catcher is now a fortress of sharp looking protection. On the new equipment, the Steds catcher said, "Finally! And thanks to all who made it happen!"

In other Steds baseball news...

After the Steds squad tied their first game, and they redoubled their efforts. That, coupled with a motivation video Fr. Ralph, failed to help them find their first win of the season against Keough as the squad once again ended up with yet another tie game! For the third game, the 0-0-2 team had a laser focus on winning, but unfortunately, the squad went on down with a loss, losing to Keenan with a score of 8-2.

On the loss, Coach Nick Olmanson, said, "I guess at least it wasn't another tie."

STILL, the game was exciting, and it ended with a last minute blast of excitement as the Gentlemen battled it out until the bloody end. Freshmen Joe Herlihy felt something deep within himself that prompted him to make a mad dash and steal a base- home plate no less! On his feat, Herlihy said, "Much like Jackie Robinson, I have the speed and athleticism to steal home. And in the words of Yogi Berra who said, 'Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half physical,' and so, I used my God given speed and charged home to get us closer to the win!"

I like the way this Joe thinks. Better luck to our Steds squad!

Tour de St. Edward.

Harris and Viner (standing) holding court

Our Tour de St. Edward- a weekly tour of resident rooms, study lounges and popular hangouts in Notre Dame’s favorite residence hall- continues. Our today’s tour stops by room 221, a freshmen room for Jake Harris of California and Noah Viner of Vermont. Could we have any two residents further a part than these two?

St. Ed: What did you think when you received your housing assignment placing you in St.Ed’s?

Harris: I didn't know much about the hall at the time, but after connecting with some of the guys I knew it was going to be a awesome four years.

Viner: I was excited to be placed in a group of fine Gentlemen, but even more excited NOT to have to walk across lake to Carroll.

St. Ed: How’s “loft living”?

Harris:  The lofts are really nice because they create a ton of extra floor space.  I get pictures of dorm rooms of some of my friends back home and the rooms in Steds are by far the most spacious.  Better yet, having 13ft ceilings means that I can't even touch the ceiling while standing on the loft.  With the extra space Noah and I were able to fit a futon on the floor.  The room feels less like a dorm and more like a home.

Viner: Loft living is lit.  The lofts open up a ton of floor space on the ground for some time with the bros.  Not to mention I can store my inflatable raft on the upper shelf of the closet.

St. Ed: Aside from your loft, what makes your room unique among the other rooms of St.Ed’s?

Harris: I think the basketball hoop on the door makes the room.  I'm sure other Stedsmen on the second floor have heard the sounds of numerous dunk contests or extreme trick shots off of the loft.

Viner: Not only do we have a super comfortable futon, we also brought a couple chairs so any night of the week you'll find a number of other gentlemen hanging out.

St. Ed: What do you wish your room had?

Harris: Girls

Viner: Girls

St. Ed: Say, the word in the hallway is that you want to transfer to another hall. Is that true?

Harris: That is actually true.  Only so that I could transfer back into Steds the following year and go through Steds orientation again.

Viner: I told Jake not to tell anyone that.

Folks, there you have it... and it sounds like these coasts, east and west, are so far a part after all!

Saturday's Squirrel.

I spy a Painted Lady

Friends, again, don't worry! Our furry friends are doing great, and they are up to their usual antics. We'll see and hear more from them in the very near future. Believe me, they got a lot to tell us. But again, something that is pressing is noticing and appreciating all those things, the flora and fauna, that is quickly passing away as summer gives way to fall.

Yes, one might think that it will be endless summer thanks to the “Indian Summer” that we are experiencing at Notre Dame, but we should all know that everything is slowly fading away.

On waiting to lunch with Fr. Ralph, Fr. Terry Ehrman, C.S.C., botanist, theologian, and naturalist, was standing outside Steds next to what is lovingly, but mistakingly, referred to as the “butterfly bush” when he happened to come across this moth. On capturing this moth, Fr. Terry said, “All creation speaks to the glory of God.”

Indeed it does… so let’s us appreciate and enjoy it!

Something is brewing...

White: We have caffeine

...on the second floor. Trouble? Perish the thought! No, coffee... and thanks to a benefactor, on an industrial level too! James "Jimmy" White V '13, Steds 2nd floor AR and MTS grad student, has introduced a new custom at the Hall, Folger's at Four on Friday. After a long week of theologizing and translating Biblical Greek, there's nothing more enjoyable for Jimmy than having coffee and conversations with others besides his usual partners, Sts. Irenaeus, Clement of Rome, Justin the Martyr, and Athanasius. And while Folger's was served at the first Folger's, the coffee brand and type is constantly changing to meet the palates and curiosities of residents. On Folger's, White said, "At the end of each busy school week, guys have a latte on their mind, so Folger’s at Four is a chance for rest. When God created the universe, on the seventh day He rested. The life of a St. Edward's Gentleman is indeed like the life of God. So, Folger's at Four is our Sabbath Day. In his Confessions, Saint Augustine prays to God, 'Our heart is restless until it rests in You.' At Folger's at Four, in like manner, we say, 'Our heart is restless until it rests in brew.'

Oh no...

Fr. President: Paint over this mural!

Gavin and Debbie Ryan, Steds parents of Brandon Ryan, were recently breakfasting at Sorin’s at the Morris Inn, and amid their meal, Gavin admired the murals on the walls of the restaurant. As he did, he noticed something peculiar. And his suspicions were right… there was something peculiar and terribly wrong with the mural.  The mural, depicting Notre Dame in 1890, was factually inaccurate as it was missing the oldest residence hall, St. Edwards Hall, that was established in 1882!  Adding insult to injury, Sorin Hall is shown on another part of the mural, and as we all know, it was built LONG AFTER Steds.  On this error, Gavin said, “At least Zahm is omitted,” while Fr. Ralph said, “This is incredulous, and I think President Emeritus, Fr. Monk Malloy of Sorin, should rectify this egregious error immediately."

What do you do...

Fishing at ND: At least the views are great

...on the Sunday after a Notre Dame football game? Well, if you are Dan Rish '14, you go fishing at St. Mary's Lake. After taking in the home opener against Temple, Rish enjoyed his Labor Day weekend by extending his stay and doing all those things that his labors prevent. Despite not having a fishing license, Rish was unhampered by NDSP, soaking up beautiful weather and sights AND reeling in a catch. On his Notre Dame fishing adventure, Rish said, "Catching some tiny fish seemed very appropriate on Temple weekend. Great to taste victory, but we all know there's bigger fish out there!" Indeed, there are Rish, but will they all get away?

Sweet victory

It was a day of...

Steds Football 2017

...tradition, pageantry, sportsmanship, and revenge. ...tradition, pageantry, sportsmanship, and of course, revenge. The Steds inter-hall football season started Sunday with its game opener against Zahm. Suffice it to say, there was a lot on the line with this game, and every Stedsmen knew it from the players right down to the fans. Even the coaches weren’t leaving anything to chance, scheduling a last minute practice scrimmage to work out any problems. I am to report that every Gentlemen, on and off the field, did his duty to Hall and King as Steds steamrolled, destroyed, obliterated, pulverized, wrecked, trounced, thrashed, clobbered, bashed, whacked Zahm 24-0.

On the decisive win…

Coach Kier Murphy, Steds Junior and ND Men’s Football linebacker, said, “We wanted to keep the pressure on their offense from the start. We're really happy with how the defense played. If we can reek that kind of havoc in the backfield like that, consistently, we're going to do just fine this year. Can't wait to get back after it again next week!”

Steds senior and veteran footballer, Tim Sherman, said, “Today was just one in a series of many days that culminates in the Inter-hall Championship on November 19th at Fr. Jenkin's Play Palace, a.k.a. ND Stadium. We played hard and with heart, and Zahm was of little consequence to us. Our linebackers filled holes left and right, shutting Zahm out of any first down. We celebrated for a short time, but then, we immediately turned our focus to next Sunday's matchup against Keenan.”

Steds freshman and rising football star, Peter Haley, said, “It felt really good to be back on a football field. This was a great team win, and I think our team chemistry was key in the victory. I think that this is a team you can really get behind. I consider myself lucky to wear the Steds uniform.”

Steds senior, former player now Steds Coach, Parker Mathes, said, “After three years of playing on the Steds football team, I have never before seen the chemistry that was pervasive on the field today. Joe Kimlinger put the team on his back and followed the ground breaking blocking of Tim Sherman. Also, the young star Peter Haley was one to watch throughout the course of the season. The kid has the intangibles. Honestly, I'm excited, and you should be too!”

Steds senior, former player now Steds Coach, Jackson Herrfeldt, said, "I think we as team showed today that we have no mercy."

Stay tuned for more!!!!

What is...

But is there a winner?

...Jeopardy!? Yes, who would have thought that after Mass there would be interest and a hankering for one of America's favorite gameshows... Jeopardy!... but there is! Every Sunday, Steds senior and RA, Jackson Howell, has been advertising a gameshow watch, and every Sunday a crowd of Gentlemen have taken him up on his offer. While we are unsure if they answer in the form a question and how they make it "a true daily double," there's no doubt that everyone enjoys the competition and camaraderie. On post Mass Jeopardy!, Howell said, "This fledgling event, bringing residents together to partake in one of the most scholarly university pastimes, is proving to be a student favorite!"

Who's winning?

Saturday's Squirrel.

The Grey Hairstreak

Friends, don't worry. Our furry friends are doing just fine, and we'll see and hear more from them in the very near future. But something that is pressing is noticing and appreciating all those things, the flora and fauna, that is quickly passing away as summer gives way to fall. In the course of our day, walking to and fro, we may not notice the number of moths and butterflies fluttering about. But someone who has is Fr. Terry Ehrman, C.S.C., botanist and theologian. On capturing this moth, Fr. Terry said, "What can be said? We must simply enjoy God's creation." Indeed, let's!

Everyone's favorite...

Cheers: Poz making milkshakes

...hall eatery, Ed's, has once again opened its door to the hungry masses. Operations returned to normal with milkshakes, paninis, pizza sticks and a whole host of other wholesome items available for purchase... and at a nominal price. How is this possible? Simple, volume... and thanks to Joe Kimlinger, Steds junior and Ed's manager. Kimlinger has assembled a group of dedicated sandwich artists, culinary service representatives, and resource supply managers to ensure that patrons of Ed's won't go hungry. Over the upcoming months, we will highlight these devoted Gentlemen, hearing from them as well as thanking them for their important service, for if Ed's were to grind to a halt so too would the wheels of matriculation! On working Ed's opening night, John "Poz" Posluszny, Steds sophomore and Ed's culinary service rep, said, "It's was like the entirety of Steds hasn't eaten for days!"

It was a night of...

Steds Bowling: Winners and Losers are all smiles

strikes, spares, and unfortunately, gutter balls. After a busy weekend of football, those who didn't have a Gen Chem test on Tuesday took a rest from their labors and went bowling. But what started out as a gentlemenly pursuit, bowling with one's fellow gentlemen, quickly and quietly turned into a no holds barred competition, pitting residents against Hall Staff. Obliging their juniors, the Hall Staff, including Fr. Ralph, rose to the occasion pulling out all and any stops out to politely put their young upstarts in their place. Steds senior and RA, Jack Kill, bagged a turkey, three strikes in a row, while fellow senior and RA, Patrick Yerkes, bowled the high game of the evening. And Fr. Ralph was no slouch himself, bowling a respectful 140. On being routed by the Hall Staff, Josh Gambardella, Steds freshman and gracious loser, said, "You know, the Hall Staff didn't strike me as a group of athletes, but as it turns out they have talent to spare." Folks, well said, and what a wordsmith that Josh is...

On bagging his first ever turkey, Kill said, "Never in my life had I bowled two strikes in a row, so I thought three would be out of the question. But hey, clear eyes, full heart, can't lose! Gobble gobble."

Kill: The real winner of the evening

Tour de St. Edward.

Living the dream: Chapple and Fagan

Today, starts our Tour de St. Edward- a weekly tour of resident rooms, study lounges and popular hangouts in Notre Dame’s favorite residence hall. Our tour starts with room 323, a freshmen room for Joshua Chapple of Virginia and Conal Fagan of Derry, Northern Ireland.

St. Ed: What did you think when you received your housing assignment placing you in St.Ed’s?

Chapple: When I first learned I was living in Steds, I was very excited because I had shadowed a student living there and knew how nice the rooms were since they were lofted. But then to my horror, I realized that meant no A/C and as a Virginia boy that was a pretty scary proposition. But like any good gentlemen of Steds, I have adapted to the live without it.

Fagan: First thought when getting assigned to Steds: I’m an Irish guy; how am I going to survive the heat without any A.C.? This was quickly followed by asking myself why I would want to live in a building that’s 135 years old? I would probably get stuck in the elevator on my first day because it hasn’t been renovated since the dark ages, while I wouldn’t be able to shower because there would only be one shower on every floor that had minimal water which would dribble down- not to mention the fact that it would probably be freezing. Not exactly what I would desire on December mornings.

St. Ed: How’s “loft living”?

Chapple: I love living in a loft. The first luxury is all of the space it creates in the room, but the true benefit is the thrill it provides when I almost fall down the ladder every single morning. The loft also allows a great bonding experience with my roommate, when we sleep we are in it together. If either of us tosses or turns the other one is going to feel it. This togetherness has really allowed me to better cope being alone and way from home.

Fagan: It’s safe to say that it’s a lot better than my assumptions prior to moving in. Of course, I get the odd freight when the whole bed creaks whenever either myself or Josh wriggle about in our beds. Everyone gets pretty jealous of how nice our dorm is, or more accurately, how spacious the room is in comparison to their own.

St. Ed: Aside from your loft, what makes your room unique among the other rooms of St.Ed’s?

Chapple: Our room is unique in our Irish pride (and thats not just the Fighting Irish). Irish country music or McGregor fight songs can often be heard coming from our room and a beautiful Irish flag dominates the decor of the room.

Fagan: It is the only room where the Irish flag is displayed legitimately, while having somebody in it that requires a translator every time they speak to someone else.

St. Ed: What do you wish your room had?

Chapple: I often find myself wishing that the room came with a maid that would make my bed and organize my desk.

Fagan: If we had our own coffee machine, getting up at 6.30 wouldn’t be such a struggle. Also, having a balcony as well as a skylight would be pretty nice.

St. Ed: Say, the word in the hallway is that you want to transfer to another hall. Is that true?

Chapple: Under no circumstances would this be true. The traditions and gentlemen of Steds make it easily the best dorm on campus!

Fagan: Becoming a member of the Men's ND Soccer Team, I can’t deny that I haven’t spoken to representatives of other dorms. However, after discussing personal terms with my agent and my family at Steds, it is simply unthinkable to leave this incredible place. No amount of money, not even the £200 million which was paid for Neymar, could pull me away. Loyalty is everything. I suppose I’m just too much of a gentleman!

Wow. There you have it... thoughts and musings from Steds 323.

Stedsmen run...

Thomas and Connaughton

...into each other all the time. Then, it is no surprise two Stedsmen recently ran into each other at Harvard. While attending "The Business of Media, Entertainment, and Sports" class, Andy Thomas '11, who is pursuing an MBA at Harvard, ran into a number of NBA players, including the Portland Trail Blazers guard Patrick Connaughton '15. Patrick, Chris Bosh, and a number of other current or former NBA players were sitting in on the class and are in a program assisting professional sports players ponder life and business after their sports careers end. On matriculating with Connaughton, Thomas said, "Pat broke the case down like he would break down Chris Bosh off the dribble." Folks, I can't disagree with that... case closed.

Dining Out.

Keeping it classy: LimeBiking it

Even though it is still early on in the semester, matriculating students at Notre Dame like to keep their dinning options open, less the dinning hall loses its luster and appeal. With that in mind, the fourth floor RAs, Dan Riley and Patrick Yerkes, decided to take their residents on an outing to taste the fare of St. Mary's. Suffice it to say, the kids where excited, and we so excited were they that they even went and collected LimeBikes for the special outing. They were going to show up on campus in style...

On the magical evening, Chase Miller, Steds freshman, said, "I'd say the trip over to St. Mary's Dining Hall was fantastic in every aspect - the beef tenderloin was preposterously succulent and the crème brûlée practically melted in my mouth. There were even girls! And on an aside, I think I may have found myself a date to Yacht Dance."

Unfortunately, the evening soured a bit, and Miller went on to report,"However, tragedy struck later in the evening when all of the Lime Bikes we rode over had mysteriously disappeared by the time we finished the 7 course meal... so we had to walk back. Although that put a slight damper on the mood, I managed to hitchhike back to Steds with some friendly St. Mary's sophomores on their way to Notre Dame. 10/10 would go again, no hesitation."

Saturday's Squirrel.

Do you see him?

Our furry friends are happy that students have once again returned to campus. Yes, the lean days of summer and dearth of handouts have come to an end. Once again, it's raining bagels, dining hall goodies, and Au Bon Pan baked goods. But someone else who is keeping a close eye on campus and our furry friends is this hawk. Atop the Law School building, he's keeping a keen eye out... for our furry friends. On his watchful gaze, our hawk non-verbaled, "I see you, but do you always see me?"

The sights...

God Bless America and Steds!

... at Notre Dame are always edifying and inspiring, and the same could, and needs, to be said of its students. You never know when or where it's going to happen, but it happens everyday, and seeing these moments is one of the privileges of living among the young men and women of Notre Dame. One such moment was captured in the early morning as they were making their way to the Main Building when suddenly a Steds Gentleman was exiting the Hall with the Steds American flag in the background. On being photographed, Matt Cyrs, Steds sophomore and Navy ROTC, said, "Seeing the flag hanging proudly from two windows of our hall stirs a little something within me every time that I walk by.  It is an eternal memorial to our founding principles of life and liberty, and to the thousands who have given their everything in service to those principles.  God only knows where my future service will take me, but no matter where I go, I can be sure that the American flag will never be far away.  God bless the USA."

It was...

Opening Float 2017

...a sight to behold. Once again, St. Edward's took to the Fr. Ted Hesbugh, C.S.C., Memorial Library's reflecting pool on the morning of game day, and as they did, they brought along their cherished inflatables. Swans, sharks, and a host of other air filled animals and objects took a splash in the sapphire colored water of the reflecting pool. Still yet, the Gentlemen not only took a pre-game splash but also gave a special cheer to the ND Marching Band as they passed by. Without doubt, it was a sight to behold. On participating in his first float, Ben Merrick, Steds freshman, said, "My first time floating was absolutely amazing. I will never forget the experience of running through the reflecting pool's blue water as we all screamed and yelled. Floating can accurately be compared to basket weaving. You have no idea what's going on, but it's absolutely thrilling to watch!"

Interestingly, a crowd gathered to watch the Gentlemen as they kept their pre-game tradition, and how could they not?! One person in the crowd remarked, "Who are these guys with this marvelous tradition?"

Still yet, while acknowledging the participants' outlandish attire and antics, one unnamed mother remarked, "They sure look like fine young Gentlemen!" Indeed, they do unnamed mother... indeed they do!

Here are some more pictures...

Get ready...

...GO...

...and GO...

A new power...

Looking good and playing for keeps

... has taken to the field. That power is none other then the Steds baseball team. Yes, they may share a lot with the Cleveland Indians of the 90's, always around but never able to seal the deal with that major win, but this year is different. And how can it not with this year’s squad packing young talent like never before… especially so since there are more freshmen than upperclassmen on the squad? With no dearth of talent and spirit, there’s serious talk that this could be the year that Steds takes it all. And hopes are still running high as the Steds came from behind to tie its season opener against Sorin Hall with a score 4-4. On the tie, Nick Olmanson, Steds senior and coach, said, “If the tie breaker is the sharpest looking team, then we won that game.”

Good luck to you Coach Olmanson and to the Steds squad!

Oh, the places...

Burns: On Safari

... the Stedsmen have gone over the summer! Like St. Ed, the Gentlemen have traveled far and way during the past summer. One resident who traveled quite a distance was Steds sophomore and ND Mens' Basketball team, Elijah Burns. Traveling to South Africa, Burns toured the tip of the continent, visiting major cities, the countryside, and national parks, namely Kruger Nation Park. Beautiful sights were beheld, and zoo animals were seen without cages... at a safe distance of course. Suffice it to say, it was a most memorable trip. On his South African safari, Burns, said, "If you don't book your trip today, you are missing out...

... and this guy isn't looking for peanuts."

Labor Day at...

Restic: Making the best of it

...Notre Dame is not a resting from one's labors but rather a day of labor. While the rest of the University has the day off as a holiday, students are busy going to classes, matriculating as usual. BUT, before we call this "un-American"... before we call this a corruption of the spirit of the day... before we say anything else, know that students get Fall Break. Yes, for the price of ONE day off, students get FIVE days off. Seems like a bargain to me. Still, on having to labor on Labor Day, Eric Restic, Steds sophomore and ND Lacrosse player, said, "Oh the rest of the United States gets work/school off for Labor Day? I was under the impression that the Sabbath was yesterday. If I can do work today, so can you."

Your Sunday picture...

The setting sun on Mary and the Dome.

...from Notre Dame. It was a glorious Sunday here at Notre Dame. As I have always said, "The Son always shines on Notre Dame!" Well, a football win on Saturday helps a lot to. Enjoy your Sunday wherever you may be!

A great day...

Prefect!

...for a football game. Indeed, it was. The weather was perfect... sunny and in the 70s. You just couldn't asked for a better day for the opening of the football season! Wait, you want an improved football stadium? Yes, today you got that too along with the great weather. On the renovated stadium, Tom Roman '14 JD '17, former Steds resident and AR, said, "In the Gospel of St. John chapter 2 verse 19, Jesus said to destroy the temple. Notre dame certainly took inspiration from the gospel yesterday, as Temple was thoroughly destroyed. As for the new renovations , I was thoroughly impressed.
