It been a busy...

Onders (L) and Casey (R) with locals...

... Fall Semester, but for some Stedsmen, it was a big vacation. Yes, some Stedsmen never stopped their summer vacation. How? By studying abroad of course! Two such gentlemen were juniors Mark Onders and Ryan Casey. Natives of Ohio and New Hampshire, Onders and Casey went to Dublin, Ireland this fall for a three month vacation.  And amid all the learning, what fun they had taking in the Irish countryside. But now, as these two Stedsmen are once again back on campus and at Steds, the vacation is over and the playing and jetting about, er studying, in Europe, a fading memory.

On their study abroad, Casey shared, "Contrary to popular belief, studying abroad has been incredibly difficult. We have to consider things like which Greek beach has the best waves, who pours the best Guinness in Ireland, or even which lederhosen looks most flattering for Oktoberfest. This work has been rigorous, but someone has to do it, even engaging locals like these two donkeys in the Aran Islands on a random Tuesday afternoon."

Still, his traveling companion, Onders, added, “While ‘studying’ across Europe, Ryan and I have made sure to keep Steds a priority. Whether it has been sampling new food options for Ed’s in Germany, or scoping out new expansion locations for the gym in Greece, we have been nonstop searching for ways to further widen the gap between Steds and the second best residence hall. As we have yet to find any lucrative opportunities, we will have to continue ‘studying’ intensely and report back our findings.”
