A sense of...

Stornetta: Smiling and cycling

... peace has descended upon campus, and you can feel it. Yes, you can really feel this peace. And what is causing it? Well, the permacloud has departed, allowing ample amounts of sunshine to make campus awash in bright and warming light. But it's not just because of that. This serene feeling is welling up from something more than just the absence of clouds. It's really coming from the fact that no one has to worry about being hit by a personal electronic vehicle, aka electric scooter, anymore! No longer do you need to look over your shoulder before making a turn as you ambulate about campus. No longer do you have to worry about being startled and shocked as you are overtaking by a scooter from behind. No longer do you have to wonder, is this the day I will be taken to hospital because I was hit by a scooter? No longer having to worry about these and others problems associated from electric scooters have freed pedestrians all over campus from worry and fear. And now, there is a real peace when one walks anywhere on campus. But will that peace last? On being spotted on his afternoon to commute, Cam Stornetta, Steds senior and bicyclist, shared, "I can go faster on this bike than I ever could on my scooter!”
