... at your service! Recently, thanks to senior Graham Lorenz, the Gentlemen, working with their neighbors in Zahm Hall, the women Breen Phillips, worked with a local nonprofit organization called Cultivate Food Rescue to put together over five hundred frozen meals. These meals will be distributed to those in need, especially children, in the area, ensuring that no child goes hungry over a weekend. Working in an assembly line, they prepared, packaged, and sealed the meals, which were then shipped off to local schools that participate in the weekend food program.
On helping to keep children fed, Andrew Kolochydak, Steds VP, shared, “The Steds service event at Cultivate Food Rescue was, by far, one of my favorite dorm events of the year. I was able to bond with several of my fellow Stedsmen while making a real difference in my local community. I also enjoyed how I had the opportunity to meet new people, several of whom were from our sister dorm, Breen-Phillips Hall, forming relationships that will pave the way for a future of collaborative Steds x BP service events for the rest of the academic year. For those who couldn’t make it, I highly recommend participating in the future, and I look forward to working with our Steds service commissioners to get more events planned for the rest of the year!”
