Slugging it out on the field...
... the marbles. With tackle football at Notre Dame going the way of dodo bird, all talent, skill, and energies have been redirected and concentrated in flag football. Fielding three teams during the regular season, Steds was able to make an appearance in the Notre Dame Stadium as one of its team made it to the championship game. Held the day after the last football game against Wake Forest, the Steds team, composed of sophomores, faced off against Siegfried. Steds pushed hard in the first half, but after a touchdown was called back and stopped by two Siegfried goal line stands, the steam fell died out. Sadly, the second half went all Siegfried's way, and with a single touchdown, they won the game. While
On the championship game, John Cook, Steds sophomore and team quarterback, shared, "After an awesome season with each other, we are all sorry we weren’t able to win it all in front of friends and family. The loss doesn’t take away from the memories we made during the season and our anticipation for next year."
On the performance of the 6 foot 8 inch quarterback, John Cook, Fr Ralph disclosed, "No matter if we win or lose, I will always look up to Cook, literally and figuratively!"
