... Saturdays are busy days. Why? Well for so many reasons but namely for tailgates. Yes, tailgates. Notre Dame tailgates, which have graduated from the back of cars and trucks, require a lot of energy, especially by the host. And when it comes to hosting, there is no question that Rauchs, Mary and David, parents Steds junior and Vice President Louis Rauch, have energy and then some. Hosting a tailgate for their son Lou of Steds and daughter Bella of Lewis, Mary and David's tailgate for Pitt weekend not only served up excellent food, especially perfectly cooked hamburgers, but also rallied the spirits of ND fans for the game. And of all of this was done with a smile! Indeed, putting this all together, the planning, the fighting of traffic, setup and take down, and of course, attending the game itself makes hosting a real labor of love. On hosting tailgates, Mary Rauch shared, "The early mornings, late nights, rain, snow and cold are all worth the smiles from and good conversations with Stedsmen ranging from freshmen to graduates. For God, country, Notre Dame and Steds! GO IRISH!"
