Giaimo, Fairchild, and Donovan gaming away...
... and twice on Saturday! It was double gaming on Saturday as the Gentlemen held a video game tourney AND a football game watch all in the 4th floor SkyLounge. Now, the football game watch did not go the way everyone wanted, but the video game tourney was a different story. Hosted by the Hall StaffThe competition was a March Madness-style tournament where players competed against each other in a multitude of games. But what made things a real competition was the winner must be a "Jack of all Trades." You see, every round of the tournament will feature a different video game. So, those who might have always been "the point of difference" when it comes to Fifa might not make it past the second round if you can't also drain 3's in 2k. Each round featured a new game and that game was revealed until the start of each round.
Suffice it to say, the competition was real, and as the tourney progressed, surprise defeats and victories were had. The sting of defeat sat heavy in the Flounge for many, but for the winner, Chris Giaimo, junior and New Yorker, the euphoria of being the champion was had. Still, Steds senior, Anthony Kafel, clinched second place while Steds freshman, Kyle McKay, took home third place. On being first loser, Kafel said, "It was a tournament filled with happiness and heartbreak. Some took home victories on the pitch in Fifa as others fell short, just as Notre Dame did against Clemson."
BUT THERE WAS MORE...
Just when everyone thought things couldn't get any better in the SkyLounge, it did! Thanks to Chip and Melissa Shaia, parents of Harry and whose dad was former resident of Steds, the Gentlmen were treated to Chick Fil A sandwiches and various LaCroixs. What goes better with a video game tourney and game watch than Chick Fil A and LaCroix. Still yet, it was also a great way to celebrate Harry's birthday too. Happy Birthday Harry!
