It's official!

Smiles all around, but older sister is more curious

We have a new Christian! At the historic Log Chapel, Dr. Jay and Liz Williams, of Steds and PW and of Class of 2012, baptized their third child, Finley. Gathering with their immediate families and Steds family, Finley was baptized where the Founder, Fr. Sorin, lived and prayed, after the chapel and land- that would become the University- was donated by Fr. Stephen Badin, first priest ordained in the United States and local missionary. Fr. Stephen's grave (pictured above) is at the base of the Log Chapel altar, and his log chapel is often referred to as the "Cradle of the University." Though asleep for the majority of her baptism, Finley was received with great joy and smiled before falling back to asleep. On the baptism, Peter and Meredith Vogel, of Steds and St. Mary's and also of the Class of 2012, godparents to Finley, shared, "Log Chapel baptisms are reserved for only the best babies. Finley fits that bill and took the plunge like a champ! Meredith and I are so honored to serve as her godparents. We look forward to helping guide her on her faith journey!"
