O'Hara: goodbye and hello
... not forgotten. Recently, goodbyes had to said a fixture at Ed's, the Vita-mixer 200. At Ed's since its opening in 2010, the blender suddenly stopped mixing up late night smoothies and milkshakes. Despite unplugging and then turning it off and on, the veteran Vita-mixer 200 could not be resuscitated. A small private service, with all Ed's workers present, was held, giving a dear, dear friend a proper farewell. But as everyone was saying their goodbyes, they were quickly saying their hellos to the new Vita-mixer 200 that now resides at Ed's. On the passing of the original Ed's blender, Cole O'Hara, Steds sophomore and Da'manager of Ed's shared, "Today, Ed’s, everyone's favorite eatery, mourns the loss of a dear friend who has served the St. Edward’s community since the very beginning of the Eatery in 2010, putting smiles on the faces of the men of St. Edward’s Hall and filling their bellies with delicious smoothies and milkshakes for fifteen years. We thank the blender for its service and welcome its successor with open arms. R.I.P. blender.”
