It's official. Joseph “Jay” Mathes ’12 and Maggie Niehaus were married at Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Midtown Atlanta on January 8th. With Fr. Ralph witnessing and surrounded by family, friends, and the Steds family, Jay and Maggie exchanged their vows with much emotion and joy. Suffice it to say, there were tears of joy but also a great amount of smiles. On Maggie marrying into the Steds Family, Ryan Kim ’12 shared, “The 2012 Gentlemen couldn’t be happier for former Steds president, inter-hall football captain, and just plain legend Joseph Albert Mathes Jr. as he married Maggie Niehaus last weekend and welcomed her into our ND family. She is a perfect match for Jay and has been dutifully supporting him and his beloved Irish throughout their relationship despite being a Wake Forest Deacon and hailing from a proud family of Georgia Dawgs. We celebrated among lifelong friends with plenty of love, laughs, and libations well into the night.”
