Johnson: My captain, my captain

... mission and a mullet. Well, soon, Ryan Johnson, Steds sophomore and Mullets Against Malaria Commissioner, will have a mullet and direct Steds hair power in the battle against malaria. But before the our boys head off to the front, I was able to catch up with this brave Georgian, and ask him about the impending showdown with our  

St.Ed: For those who are new to Steds, what is Mullets Against Malaria?

Johnson: Mullets Against Malaria is a Steds charity event where we will be getting beautiful mullets on February 9th. We will not remove our mullets until our fundraising goal is achieved. Yes, our mullets allow us to raise money for Nothing But Nets, a great charity fighting against Malaria worldwide by providing mosquito nets to affected areas.

St.Ed: How is Steds using mullets to stop malaria?

Johnson: Everyone knows how beautiful mullets are, and our mullets will be too. They will catch the eyes of others as well as their attention. Our mullets will make them ask themselves, "Why are there so many handsome guys wearing cool mullets from the 80's?" In the end, it will draw them to our side to give, allowing Nothing But Nets to purchase bed nets for children, especially in Africa, to keep malaria-carrying flies from infecting them. Who knew simple bed nets could do so much?

St. Ed: As our commander in the fight, how are you rallying the men to offer their locks to this noble cause?

Johnson: Beyond organizing many of the logistical details of this fight, the Men of St. Edward's Hall have required very little rallying. Spirits are high, and their enthusiasm is electrifying. As we all know, the Gentlemen of St. Edward's Hall won't shy away from a fight, especially when it's against malaria. It's all very edifying. 

St. Ed: When you get your mop of hair styled, will it be a mullet, and if so, will it have a name?

Johnson: It will absolutely be a mullet. As of right now, a name has not been decided upon. I feel that it is better to see the finished product before finding a worthy name for it.

St. Ed: Okay, maybe you can’t say, but do we have any secret weapons in this fight?

Johnson: At this time I am not prepared to release any confidential information about potential "secret weapons;" however, I am prepared to say that we have a few things, aces, up our sleeves.

St.Ed: How can others join you and brave boys, maybe not with a mullet, in this fight against malaria?

Johnson: The best way to help us in this fight is by making a donation. Even a small amount can make a huge difference to those in need. Together we can all help bring an end to this disease.
