... another coat! Yup. You heard me. Put on another coat! Recently, the exterior, wooden doors of Steds were stripped and revarnished. And it was about time! Northern Indiana summers and winters had taken their toll on the doors to point where their luster was long gone. Still, don't forget the damaged done to our doors by our furry friends, campus squirrels, but that's a story for another day. But what is important is the University is finally getting around to revarnishing the 290 unique wooden doors on campus, including the FIVE doors at Steds. On revarnishing the Steds doors, a maintenance technician shared, "If there was a scale where 5 was horrible and 1 was great, then the doors at Steds would be a solid 4. They really needed attention."
