The place to...

It was a sunny day...

... be yesterday was St. Edward's Park. With perfect weather conditions, the Steds Park was prime real estate to take in the 2024 solar eclipse where totality reached ninety-seven percent. Stedsmen started arriving in the Park at 1:30pm which was perfect as the eclipse began around 1:50pm. As the eclipse gradually increased, more and more Stedsmen and friends filled the Park, throwing baseballs, doing homework, even catching a few rays. With a plethora of special solar eclipse glasses from the government and ND colleges and clubs, everyone could take in this phenomenon safely and with no one being "blinded by the light." When the eclipse reached its totality at 3:09pm, Bonnie Taylor's Total Eclipse of the Heart was played, and the majesty of creation was taken in to the delight and awe of all assembled. On taking in the eclipse, Tim Parisi, sophomore and resident Californian, said, "It's definitely a special experience watching the eclipse so close to the path of totality. Seeing everything outside get significantly darker as we got closer to our peak coverage was incredibly cool to watch. I've seen one eclipse before with a lower coverage percentage which was much less exciting, so I am extremely happy I didn't miss this one!"

... they came...

... they saw...

... and O'Hara got his sunshine...

... and excitement continued...

... some tried to work on their tan...

... Parisi was perfectly positioned...

... but Steds Mom, Daniella, from Brazil had a better seat...

... all while Fr. Ralph pretended to look!
