Taking it all...

Guinnessing & Smiling: Nate, Kristin, Molly and Pete

... in for the comfort of home. While some made the trek to Ireland to see the Irish take on the Midshipmen, some stayed Stateside, opting to take everything in from the comfort of home, or specifically the couch. That was the case for the Brothers McKeon, Pete and Nate McKeon, ND undergrads, ND Law grads, and former Steds ARs. With Nate joined by his fiancĂ©, Kristen, and Pete by his girlfriend, Molly, who are also ND grads, these Irish fans hunkered down on the couch in Chicago to watch the season opener, and you guessed it. It was comfortable with plenty of Irish smiles!

On seeing everything from the couch, Pete shared, "While the Fighting Irish came home to Dublin last weekend, this Irishman stayed home and chose to watch the game surrounded by all the comforts of modern life, in comfort and peace. While some may say this reeks of cowardice, I posit that, much like the riveters of old, we who stayed are equally responsible for the victory as the boys overseas. Regardless, the real takeaway this weekend was that no matter how or where you consume your Irish football, a Notre Dame victory tastes as sweet as a pint of Guinness every time!"

Still, Nate added, "There’s an old Irish Proverb, “Your feet will bring you where your heart is.” Finding his heart was already where it needed to be - on the couch next to his dearest - this Son of Ireland kicked his feet up and poured the Guinness down as the Fighting Irish cruised to victory."
