It's for real!

The future Clines: Brigid and Robert

They’re getting married! Stedsman Robert Cline ’24 and Farley's Brigid Burn '24 are getting married. Robert proposed to Brigid while on a trip to Iceland. Yes, Iceland. While the water was falling at Godafoss Waterfall, Cline also fell on a knee too and proposed, and thankfully, she said yes! They look forward to their wedding in the summer of 2026 in Denver, Colorado. On their engagement and getting married, Cline shared, “If any of you young Stedsmen have been philosophizing about the key to happiness; philosophize no more! The key to happiness is finding yourself a beautiful Farley girl (they are called the Finest for a reason) and getting engaged in the most beautiful foreign country you can think of.”

On the...

Irish down south: Islam Gomes, Guenthner, and Williams

... road! Not only was our football team on the road this past weekend but also our fiends, including some of our Steds seniors. Traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the showdown with the Arkansas' Razorbacks, many Notre Dame fans were headed to place where they had not been but not for one Stedsman. That's right, Ryan Williams, Steds senior and resident Arkansans and Little Rockan, had been to Fayetteville many times, but would this time be for a ND victory? Traveling with him were fellow seniors Arvin Islam Gomes and Luke Guenthner, who thanks to Williams got to experience local living. And on top of that, the football team delivered a resounding victory. On returning to home for the ND game, Williams shared, "I’ve been going to Fayetteville every year since I was five, so it felt pretty weird wearing walking into the game with blue and gold on instead of razorback red. More than anything though, I enjoyed the opportunity to introduce so many of my friends to my Arkansas friends to their campus and their traditions which, until now, were too distant to share."

Your Sunday picture...

... from Notre Dame. Here is an early morning view of the Sorin statue at the far end of God Quad with Mary and the Dome in the distance. If you look at the base of the statue, then you'll notice that the groundkeepers have switched the summer flowers to the fall. Just another sign that fall is here! Enjoy, and enjoy your Sunday wherever you may be!

Saturday squirrel.

Practice makes perfect

Our friends are taken a break this Saturday, and as they do, we can turn the light on some other campus friends, the lake swans. Residing at St. Mary's Lake, our swans own the lake, and they are not afraid to remind others who in charge. But when they are not chasing off interlopers, they are practicing. Practicing what? Their synchronized swimming skills of course! Recently, our lake swans were spotted doing just that, diving in tandem. On being spotted practicing, a swan non-verbaled, "We're going for gold!"

Steds apparel...

D.B.S. and no C.O.D.

... orders are off and running. That's right. Yesterday, Fr. Ralph closed apparel sales and sent the order to our apparel company. While an exact date was not provided, thoughts are the order will arrive in mid-October, just before Fall Break and just in time as the temps drop, becoming hoodie weather. This year, apparel sales were open to Alumni, family, and friends so that the "repp'n" of Steds could be expanded, touching all corners of the country and globe. Suffice it to say, some orders would have to be shipped, and of course, there were many delivery options. But one option that would eliminate the need for shipping and incurring an extra cost was for the order to be picked up in person by someone else, preferably someone already on campus. But one Stedsman went a step further, requesting his order be picked up by his son. On creating and selecting this most unique option, P.J Moran '13 shared, "I would like to select the "Delivery By Son" method. I have put Jack on his bicycle and pointed him north. I anticipate he will arrive at the Steds doorstep sometime prior to his 5th birthday. Please kindly hold the parcel until then."
