... ponders finance. Gathering in the historic, yet commodious, Gregorian Lounge, the Gentlemen listened to Derry Herlihy '11, Stedsman, ND football player, as shared his career insights. Yes, this favorite son of Texas, Stedsman, econ and political science major, was a corporate bond trader on Wall Street with Citigroup and Morgan Stanley on Wall Street, but now finds himself on “Y’All” Street as Morgan Stanley’s co-head of Investment Grade Credit Trading Desk in his hometown of Houston. Herlihy returned home to Steds to share his insights and career advice for all those interested in careers in financial markets, exploring different career paths within the "market ecosystem" from sales to trading, from investing and structuring to lending. Of course, there was ample time for questions. On hearing Herlihy speak, an unnamed Stedsman said, "I am buying whatever he's selling!"
