Who knew will would ever be looking forward to a Monday, but we did... this Monday! If you didn't know, because you were living in a cave, today is the National Championship Playoff! And as Irish fans gather in Atlanta to cheer on their team, so too the Stedsmen. One group of Stedsmen had a chance encounter with none other than Shane Gillis. After dinner, while walking down the street in Midtown Atlanta, a group of Steds freshmen encountered a group of guys walking in the opposite direction. Patrick Fischer, Henry Mackie, and Shaun McKenna took a double take, with Henry pointing and calling out Shane Gillis. Next thing you know, they got a picture with Shane and his dad. Both were very friendly and happy to oblige. On encountering Shane Gillis, Shaun McKenna, Steds freshman and resident Connecticuter, shared, "Shane and his electric optimism drove our Irish spirits higher than we thought possible. The Irish will be crowned once again!”
