ND Day...

The camera that captures it all

…funds at work! As funds continue to be dispersed, improvements are continuing to be made around the Hall. Yet another improvement thanks to Notre Dame Day funds is the purchasing of a hall camera. Could we take pictures for our Hall's blog and website with our smartphone cameras? Yes. Yes we could, and DaVinci and Michelangelo could have used Etch-A-Sketches and Play Doh to paint and sculpt. No! Something better than a smartphone camera was required to provide you, our faithful viewers, with pictures of the life and times, nay the joie de vie, of St. Edward’s Hall. So, in consultation with the Hall Photographer, Luke Golichowski, a search was conducted and a camera found. On the new hall camera, Golichowski said, “They say a picture is worth a thousand words- and it very well might be- but a Steds photo captures so much more than that paltry amount. Having the new camera has been great. The guys love the feeling of being harassed by the paparazzi, and I love harassing them to sit still for the shot. Still, there are inherent difficulties in capturing the historical moments of St. Ed’s, namely they are so frequent and fleeting. Luckily for all of us, this camera shoots fast, and I don't like to spend too much time studying."

Indeed, we are lucky, and that's for all that you did Mr. Hall Photographer.
