... near the stadium. That's right. Barriers like this are coming to the roads near the Notre Dame football stadium. In the wake of the tragedy on the eve of Notre Dame's appearance in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, this safety measure is aimed at preventing that tragedy from being repeated. While the barriers are down during the day as well as when the stadium is not in use, they are raised on game days, preventing any traffic coming near the stadium and pedestrians. On the installation of the barriers, a resident speaking on the condition of anonymity, shared, "Impressive for sure, but I hope they don't get the idea to drive around it."
