Winners: Tompkins and Burns
... at Steds! The recent streak of winners continues at St. Ed's. Steds not only won ND Day again but also its recent semi-playoff soccer game. That's right! Big Cats is now playing for all the glory, fancy feast and yarn in in the inter-mural soccer FINAL. Congratulations Big Cats. But perhaps this winning streak has a beginning, and if it does, then it starts with this man, Paddy Burns. Irishman and ND Mens Soccer player, Paddy, along with Danny Hughes, won the Steds Pool tourney back in January. Recently, Burns, joining former Hall President, Aidan Tompkins, in a small, unveiling ceremony where Burns and Hughes' names were added to the winners' plaque in the Gentlemen's Billiards Room. On the plaque unveiling, Tompkins shared, "After getting cut in tenth grade hockey tryouts, I thought my time hanging out with varsity athletes was over. That changed this weekend when I got to congratulate Paddy on his championship. Paddy Burns proved to be a ferocious competitor on the felt and a gracious winner when it was all said and done. A true gentleman."
