Room Picks...

In the Flounge there was excitement...

... is always a fun night. Without doubt, the night of picking next year's room at Steds is always a nerve racking and emotionally charged event. Why? Because everyone has the opportunity to do seven days of mental gymnastics, formulating plan As, Bs, and Cs, and create plans within plans, all so that the desired room might be secured. While some described the evening as being potentially "Oscar-esque," the actually night went without a hitch, and to surprise of many- but not the rector- it was devoid of drama and tears. Armed with their hopes and plans, residents were called by their lottery numbers to select a room. One by one, residents left the Flounge and filed into Fr. Ralph's to pick the room of their dreams, and with the Hall Staff present to help as plans went bust, it was over before it started, finishing in a record thirty minutes. In the end, it was mission accomplished as everyone had a room at Steds.

On the evening of picking rooms, Connor Cirrotti, freshmen and resident New Jerseyite said, "Room picks are the closest thing that we have to an actual NFL draft," while fellow freshmen and Californian, Marshall Smith, shared, "The most fun part of room picks was sneaking into Fr. Ralph’s room and switching around everyone’s assignments for next year. I am beyond excited to now have Fr. Kevin’s apartment to myself next year!"
