A star...

Send in the other Cone: Jake Buckendorf

... is born! If you were at the game this past weekend, then you know that at certain points you could have heard a pin drop. Indeed, it was a real nail bitter of a game. The Marching Band and the Half Time Show did much to relieve the nerves of many, but it could only do so much. What next? Well, send in the students. One student who was at the ready was a Stedsman by the name of Jake Buckendorf. This Steds freshman, and long time ND football fan came to the first game of the season to rally spirits for his quarterback in a most peculiar way. To show his support for the quarterback, Jack Coan, Buckendorf came to the game wearing a traffic cone. Yes, a full sized, legitimate traffic cone! In the end, Buckendorf not only caught the attention of announcers but also the admiration of the crowd, buoying their spirits and keeping them in their seats until the very end. On appearance of this new star in the stands, Buckendorf disclosed, "It's a true honor to be Jack "Cone" who is in full support of our beloved Jack Coan. Through some creative luck, Jack Cone was made and I think that his existence gives our QB1 some much needed support and hope for the future. G'Irish!"
