A Mass to remember
... Mass was celebrated this Sunday at the Chapel of Sts. Edward and John. Because of the Covid and with socially distancing in effect, the St. Ed's chapel had its seating reduced so it held a maximum of thirty-two persons for Mass. Once capacity was reached, "gentlemen ushers" directed Mass goers to seating in the Flounge, the first floor lounge, where more Stedsmen could gather and watch Mass via Zoom. Again once, once capacity was reached, "gentlemen ushers" directed Mass goers to go to their rooms and watch via Zoom. Still yet, members of the Steds around the country could join by watching either through Zoom or FaceBook Live. So many options that there's no excuse not to go! While it was everyone's wish we could gather as one in the chapel, the best alternative was devised and delivered. Suffice it to say, it will only get better with practice. On the new Covid Mass routine at Steds, Hall President, Peter Nichols said, "St. Ed’s welcome back Mass may have been different this year, but it was special in its own way. A busy Sunday night led me to a full capacity chapel, forcing me to stream in my room on the big screen. Fr. Ralph was a natural and had no fear for the broadcast — perhaps EWTN is in store for his retirement. Whether it was in the chapel, dorm room, or home, I hope everyone did their part singing the “Wade”!"
