... just doesn't end around here. If the excitement of the first day of classes wasn't enough, then the severe weather and tornado in the evening was. The first day of classes was a hot and humid day, with bright sunshine, until the early evening. Then, it became hazy and grey which gave way to darker and darker clouds. Next, the three bells of the University's emergency alert system was heard throughout the Hall advising everyone of inclement weather and to stay indoors. Finally, a tornado warning was issued for St. Joseph's County, Notre Dame's county. But then, after ten minutes, it was over, and to be honest, the tornado was very far away from Steds. Once the all clear signal was given, life returned to normal on campus. Still, the event left a mark on the residents. On experiencing his first tornado, Conal Fagan, resident senior and Irishman, and ND leprechaun, said, "It got the adrenaline pumping. Will there be another?"
