.... are usually not the most favorite day of the week, but for Notre Dame students, this Monday certainly was. Why? Because at roughly 9am this morning, a statement was released stating the Notre Dame Football team would indeed be playing in the fall. Who will be in the stands you ask Students. When taking a seat, students will have priority and first dibs, and should there be any open seats, then faculty and staff will be invited. But you are now wondering how can we get even this limited crowd safely into the stadium? Great question. Well, students will be seated according to their residence halls. Then, they will be seated according to "households," meaning they will be seated with their roommates, who together form a household. As such, they will not need to be socially distanced, BUT each household will be socially distanced from other households. Make sense? I hope so. Still, what do students think? Lucky for us a number of students were outside in the St. Edward's Park, enjoying a perfect summer day with a game of cornhole, and more than happy to share their two cents. On the football announcement, Vince DiFlippo, Steds sophomore, resident Ohioan, and average cornholer, said, "It was refreshing to take a break from celebrating the return of ND football, to get outside and play a few rounds of cornhole. It was all fun and games until someone called it ‘Bags’ though."
