Disaster!
Amid the joy and happiness that is Christmas, disaster has struck. Making his way home to Nebraska, Fr. Ralph took along a chocolate Santa in his baggage. The confectionary marvel was placed in a double cushioned box that very much resembled an Egyptian sarcophagus. Sadly, when the boxes were opened, Fr. Ralph discovered that while the boxes show no damage at all, Santa smashed into chocolate shards. Who did this? Thoughts immediately went to the baggage handlers of the airlines, but after closer inspection, something was found inside the bag that removed all questions as to who was responsible for roughing up Old Saint Nick. Inside Fr. Ralph's bag was the calling card of the TSA, acknowledging that they opened the bag, inspected the contents, and well, you know the rest. On the smashed Santa, Fr. Ralph said, "If someone was afraid of smuggling something illegal inside this tasteful and festive chocolate Santa, then smashing Santa to bits is one way to get answers. But we could also send him through a machine to look inside, an X-ray machine. Just saying."

Winter...
... has arrived. While the meteorological start occurred at the beginning of the month, yesterday, the winter solstice occurred, ushering in the astronomical start of winter. As we begin this new season, let's take a look at what we enjoyed during fall. Enjoy this retrospect, and stay warm wherever you may be!

Your Sunday picture...
... from Notre Dame. Here's a picture of Mary and the Dome with the afternoon Sun behind it. Walking from St. Liam's this late autumn sight was photographed. The unique positioning of the Sun gives the Dome a different type of glow and radiance than we're accustomed to seeing. Enjoy, and enjoy your Sunday wherever you may be!

Saturday Squirrel.
Knock, knock. Who's there? No one. With the all residence halls now closed, there is no one on campus. But don't worry! Campus is not unguarded? Perish the thought. Campus is now under the watchful and protective gaze of our furry friends. Much like the Guardian Angels in raspberry berets, our squirrels, with their keen sense of smell, sharp eyesight, and ability to get a tree top view of things, will be our guardians, keeping a vigilant watch over the homestead. On being the campus watch during Christmas Break, this squirrel non-verbaled, "It's a slam dunk. We got this!"
