STEDS: Happy to be back on land
...couldn't be done, and sadly, they were right. Unfortunately, the St. Ed's entries in the Fisher Regatta this past weekend looked great in the design phase but when that design was executed and put out on the water of St. Mary's Lake, well, let's just say some considerations were not considered. To the surprise of the Steds crews, both STED and Steds2 had leakage issues and had to be abandoned mid race. On the bright side, though both ships were lost and ego severely bruised, everyone returned to land safe and sound. On the adventure, Patrick Yerkes, Steds senior and member of Steds2, said, "They said 4 engineers, 3 eagle scouts, and 1 Gates Cambridge Scholar that we couldn't sink a boat, but we set out to prove them wrong. And we succeeded....Long live Steds!"
Still, President Trzaska of STEDS said, "Our moral uprightness far surpassed the uprightness of the ship."
Still yet, Vice-President Matt Lupo of STEDS said, "The problem was that we let water in."
Finally, Fr. Ralph of neither ship said, "It was like watching the movie Titanic... too soon, too soon!"
Steds2: Buoyed by high spirits, not their ship
