Disaster!

O'Hara: Not sweating it

Like the high flying Icarus, who was brought low when he lost his wings, the Stedsmen too have taken a tumble. Flying high from an orderly and effortless Move-In Day, amazing Welcome Week under the direction of the talented Ben Somerville and Brendan Avey, not to mention a painless First Day of Classes, all seemed to be coming up roses for the Gentlemen, but then, disaster struck. First, the Sky Lounge lost air conditioning. Next, a call came in that the Gregorian Lounge had become a steaming and sultry swamp. Finally, a walk through the Flounge on the first floor was a like a walk through a blast furnace. Suddenly, everyone's worse nightmare came true... there was absolutely no air conditioning to had in the entire Hall.

While pandemonium did not erupt, the minds of many at Steds immediately began to ask how was the possible? Was this an act of sabotage? Should Homeland be alerted? Minds raced many thoughts  which only made things hotter than they already were. Thankfully, things cooled off, literally and figuratively, as in the evening temps dropped off and the University Maintenance Department promised immediate attention and action in the morning as it required help from the head office in Japan. On having no air condition during the night, Cole O'Hara, Steds freshman and resident Californian, shared, “It gets pretty hot in Steds without AC, but despite the heat it remains the coolest hall on campus.”

But there's more...

Once again, Notre Dame's favorite podcast, In The Red Room, makes its return, bringing you all the happenings and interesting stories from Notre Dame's oldest and most storied residence hall, St. Edward's. What stories are being told? Well, you'll just have to listen!
