... be HERE! Steds brought home the RecSports Golf Scramble Championship, making it the first championship of the semester. The squad, composed of juniors, Henry Bergstrom, Jacob Smith, Kyle Rubin, and Brendan Moriarty and using every bit of their golf skills, won the championship at Burke Golf Course with a score of 5 under par. It was a banner day for the squad and the Hall, and hopefully, the euphoria this win has caused will spill over to other Steds sports teams. Watch out Siegfried Hall!
On the win, Bergstrom shared, “It was an amazing day with a lot of clutch shots. Really proud of the way we held together through a slow start and finished strong. It is an absolute pleasure to bring this championship back to Steds. This is where it belongs. You’re not going to win every championship, but at least we win the ones that matter,” while fellow teammate, Rubin said, “It was a pleasure to be out there with this group on Sunday and to win a paddle steamer. We fought hard and most importantly we all played a role, and I look forward to the bright future that Steds’ golf has.”
Still, Smith added,”Personally, this year’s victory was especially sweet as it made up for the heart-crushing loss that the Steds golf team experienced last year. Outside of myself, it was a completely revamped team that just went and performed out on the course for the glory of king and hall, which will always be the best part of another Steds championship,” and finally, Moriarty concluded by stating, "This was my first ever interhall win. I'm proud of my teammates, and the fact that we could go out there and bring home the W is huge for the dorm."
