Even though Labor Day has past, drawing summer to a close and prohibiting the wearing of white until Memorial Day next, Notre Dame's St. Joe's Beach, next to the discharge pipe of the power plant, is finally open. And though it may have limited, limited hours of operations, that hasn't prevented our furry friends from taking advantage of sand, sun, and limited surf. Recently, this squirrel was spotted enjoying the beach after hours when no lifeguard was on duty. On being spotted making a mad dash to the water, this squirrel non-verbaled, "Surf's up!"
