SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS...

P.J. Moran '13 (L) with Coach Dan Rish '14 (R)

Recent grad and former Steds baseball coach, P.J. Moran donated new baseball jerseys for the Hall’s baseball team. While the team’s record was 1-3, they at least looked sharp on the field.

Here’s a few words with P.J.

St. Ed: What motivated you to donate Steds baseball jerseys?

P.J. : It's hard to forget the days of my freshman year when we dressed in whatever rags we could scrap together. It was my dream that even if the baseball wouldn't improve, perhaps the uniforms could. With that said, I just wanted to give back to the Hall.

St. Ed: When you played ball for Steds, do you remember a memorable play or game?

P.J. : While it's hard to top making the playoffs two out of three years, the moment that jumps to mind is the 2011 game against Zahm, which was lowlighted by perhaps the worst call in baseball history and nearly my ejection. The player was safe and that RecSports guy knows it.

St. Ed: Would you offer any advice to our current coach, Coach Dan Rish?

P.J. : Sometimes, Dan, when the team is up against it, when things are wrong and the breaks are beating the boys, ask them to go in there with all they've got and win just one for the Skipper. I don't know where I'll be then, but I'll know about it. And I'll be happy.

St. Ed: AL or NL?

P.J. : AL… (Baltimore) Orioles.
