Saturday's Squirrel.

Hello there...

Giving our furry friends a break and some time off before the start of the fast approaching fall semester, we focus our attention on our friends around the lakes. During a walk around St. Mary's Lake, this feathered friend was spotted near the shore. Who is this feathered friend? A great blue heron (Ardea herodias) of course. Larger than the green heron that also frequents these lakes, this heron often bounces between the two lakes as well as other surrounding lakes. When taking a walk around the lakes, take a look at the lake, and we'll be surprised by what you might see!
