Patterson (middle) with fellow smiling Stedsmen- I guess we won that day.
Cole
Patterson ’11, Stedsman and “Man of Numbers,” took the time to stop valuating
semiconductors to tell me what he’s up to these days. Here’s what Patterson had
to say…
St.Ed: What are you up to these days?
Patterson:
I work (live) at an Investment Bank called Credit Suisse. It’s pretty
convenient being able to work and sleep in the same building every day of the
week.
St.Ed: What’s your investment philosophy?
Patterson:
I am a follower of the investment philosophy of buy low, sell high.
St.Ed: Me too! Say, should I be like William Devane on T.V.
and buy gold at
every opportunity?
Patterson: Always remember how stupid the average person is,
and realize
half of them are stupider than that.
St.Ed: I
know that they are a passing thought now, but if you went to the Olympics in
Sochi, what event would you most likely attend?
Patterson:
Obviously hockey – watching the 2010 Olympic hockey final in the Sted’s lounge
was one of my many highlights (ups and downs) during my three years in the dorm.
Though I must admit that ice dancing would be a close second.
St.Ed: What
advice do you have for your fellow Stedsmen?
Patterson: You’re literally living in the best dorm in the world
– nevertheless, always
remember that your time there goes by quickly, so never
take it for granted…
