What does
Andrew Lasher, Steds sophomore and Notre Dame Marching Band cymbalist, do with the roughly twenty-five hours of weekly free time that he gains since
the marching band season has ended? Let’s find out…
Lasher:
10. First and foremost, I take time to slow down. When I
am busy during band season, it is easy to forget to just slow down, take in the
Notre Dame experience before me, and remember what and awesome time and place
for us all.
9. Take a walk around campus. We have something really
beautiful here, both on the grounds and in being a member of the Notre Dame
family.
8. Continue learning to play guitar. I always wanted to,
why not now? If anyone can show me how to do a B chord without breaking my
hand, let me know.
7. Take time to talk to people. Really talk to them. 3AM
is a perfect time to start.
6. Reading…that is not for class. Yeah, I know it’s crazy.
5. Eat meals at normal times. 8:30 dinners throw everything
off.
4. Unwind with a good movie and good friends to watch it
with. (This is more difficult than it sounds considering the guys in 305 have
questionable taste in movies at best. Also, if you have never seen The Room,
don’t. If you have seen it, I know your pain but we can make it through
together.)
3. Mario Kart. Lots of Mario Kart.
2. Spread out my assignments, studying, my extracurricular
work with Notre Dame CLU and SAE Baja, and prayer to a comfortable level.
1. Being at Steds more.
Well said Lasher… well said. Folks, you just can’t argue with that....
