Mahlers finishing over a Siegfried defender.
A routing…
That’s what
Coach Mahlers, Michael Ahlers, gave Siegfried Hall on the basketball court this
past Monday. Leading the Steds “A Team” to a 59-8 victory, Coach Mahlers
utterly dismantled the Siegfried quad, and the dismantling would have continued
if it were not for the intervention of RecSports officials and their invoking
of the “mercy rule.”
Mahlers’
coaching style of "letting the players play" has allowed players,
like veteran John Planek and rookie Brandon Ruggles, to unleash their star potential.
In the end, Mahlers says, “My intervention really isn't necessary. It's like
trying to coach LeBron James out there”.
In the
huddle, Coach Mahlers tells his players:
-Always
argue with the ref- he’s out to get you, personally.
-If you
need a timeout, just tell someone "hit me". (Jason Kidd reference)
-If you
can't beat 'em, cheat.
-You
miss 100% of the shots I don't take.
-The
clock is your best friend when ahead and the worst enemy when behind.
Mercy rule?
RecSports, let the kids play!
