Memories...
Harmeyer and his brother...
... from the Super Bowl. That's what freshman and Bengals fan, Will Harmeyer, has after attending the Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium last Sunday. Like his team the Bengals, who were attending their first Super Bowl, so was Harmeyer, but in the stands. Still yet, there was another first as Harmeyer was sporting his first mullet. That's right. Harmeyer kept his mullet for the game. Now, that's real dedication. While the Super Bowl was a day of pageantry, football, and America, sadly, it was not a day for another first, a Bengals' Super Bowl victory. Despite the loss, young Harmeyer kept his chin up through it all. On the game, Harmeyer shared, "It was a tough loss but still incredibly fun. Between Joe Burrow, the halftime show, and the blind zebras they gave whistles to, it is certainly something I will never forget."

V M Day!
With their mullets, President Lynch and Johnson shook hands...
Victory over Malaria! Yes, today is VM Day at Steds, and how could it not be? The power of Steds mullets could not be rebuffed, and the enemy is vanquished for now. With the nets that will be purchased through donations, the enemy will retreat, and soon, malaria will have no place to hide. While the boys are returning home, our fight is not over, the war will go on. Indeed, the enemy will see our brave boys and their powerful, magnificent mullets again, again, again… until that day when it vanquished once and for all. But for now, it’s back to the Steds barracks for some R&R and a haircut!
Earlier this evening, President Lynch received Steds Mullet Commander, Ryan Johnson, in the Sky Lounge giving the order to cease operations and demobilize. And as sign of the Hall's gratitude, Johnson was promoted to the Supreme Commander. On Johnson’s successful campaign, Lynch said, “Never have so few, done so much, so quickly, and so classy too. Take that malaria!”
We THANK those who gave their follicles for the fight, but we also must give thanks to all those from who joined us in this fight, monitoring our progress, buoying our spirits, making donations, all of which made this campaign a RESOUNDING SUCCESS, raising $16,676! Whether or not we donned a mullet, today's victory is something that we can all be proud of and celebrate.

Mullets never...
Gentlemen: Attention...
... looked so good! With the theater of war drawing to a close, our Gentlemen gathered in the Flounge for some rest and relaxation. As they did, it was a sight for all of those at the home front to behold. The power that was exuded with so many mullets concentrated in one location at the same time, well, let's just say sunglasses were needed to take it all in. The mullets, the racing stripes, and smiles of these young men communicated class and camaraderie but most of all the conquering of a despised enemy- malaria. On the war on malaria, President Michael Lynch shared,
"In the 10th year of our campaign against malaria, St. Edward's Hall once again exceeded our fundraising goal! Thank you to Ryan Johnson for leading these efforts, and thank you to all those who donated to the cause. With your help, we raised thousands of life-saving dollars to help in the fight against malaria. Finally, thank you to the brave Stedsmen who rocked the mullet this year. It was a great success, for the kids!"

Your Sunday picture...
Waiting for spring and warmer temps...
... from Notre Dame. What can we say, but it's still cold. And what doesn't help is the constant cloud cover. Still, we have to make lemonade out of the lemons given to us in life. We can still enjoy the beautiful sights that the snow and clouds, and I guess the cold temps, provide us in this less than ideal month of February. Saturday's Squirrel.
One tree only folks: comedic squirrel
As the war against malaria carries on, let's take a brief respite from it. Someone who is always ready to entertain is a squirrel at Notre Dame. Just as we know when they need a hand out, our furry friends know when we need a pick me up. That's what this furry friend in a tree near the Main Gate was trying to do... make a funny. Running around on the ground in circles as if chasing his tail, pausing, and then starting the chase all over again, this squirrel finally assumed his perch in the tree. On his antics, this squirrel non-verbaled, "But did you get that on video?"

A leader...
Buckendorf: A bit shy, but with the help of friends...
"While all of the Gentlemen of St. Edward's Hall show up for the fight against malaria, some fight harder. This year one of our noble freshmen Jacob Buckendorf (Buck) went all out. Rather than getting a mullet he chose to receive what is colloquially known as a 'skullet.' This is essentially the opposite of a mullet where rather than cutting the sides, you only cut off the top of the hair. While all of the St. Edward's Gentlemen have shown up, Buck has become an exemplar to us all of what it means to fight malaria."
