... in the Park. Yesterday, we saw some Stedsmen hanging about in hammocks in St. Edward's Park, but hanging around, literally, wasn't the only thing going on in the Park. Some Stedsmen decided to pass the afternoon playing a game of spikeball. Pitting two Stedsmen against another pair of Stedsmen, the game was fast paced and invigorating, and though the photo could not capture it, the competitive spirit of these four was alive and well. On the game, Daniel Arrubla, Steds Freshman and resident Miamian, stated, "When the weather gets nice, there’s nothing I love more than taking a break from the homework and playing some spikeball with my fellow Stedsmen... and win of course!"

Exit...
... moms. But before they did, there was one last special event. Yes, after the festivities and fun of Friday and Saturday, the special and magically weekend ended with Mass in the Hall's Chapel of Ss. Edward and John. As the photo above shows, it was crowded, but don't worry. Being Gentlemen, chairs were offered to moms and guests while themselves took to a seat on the floor. As Mass ended, despite it being Lent, moms were treated to a little Palm Sunday surprise. On the close of Moms' Weekend with Mass, Anntheresa Buckendorf, Steds junior mom of Derek Buckendorf, said, "Happy Palm Sunday to all the Moms trying to fold a palm cross today! And praise Father Ralph for the homily to follow Christ... done with speed, efficiency, and Holy Spirit power. Peace to all the new Moms for not shrieking when the men sang “Wade in the Water” What a great ending to a perfect weekend!"
Celebrating...
... Moms. The Gentlemen feted their moms with a Celebration Dinner at the Smith Family Ballroom at the Morris Inn. At the Morris Inn, Moms were treated to appetizers and cocktails with a plated dinner following. Moms also had the opportunity to have their pictures taken with the Steds photo backdrop by a professional photographer is none other than a resident of Steds, Edgardo Rodriquez. And later, when dinner was over, there was more! A magician, a ND undergraduate student, Jake Baum, came and gave a performance that was so good, everyone was left wondering, "How did he do that?!" Sadly, the evening came to end but not after a fabulous evening. On the Celebration Dinner, Quyen Jones, Steds mom of Zach Jones, said, "It was a beautiful and fun night. It was a perfect night for moms to celebrate with our sons and with each other.”
