Saturday Squirrel.

Please stay...

With our furry friends on a late spring hiatus, our campus friends can make an appearance. And here's an appearance by a rather skittish campus friend, wood ducks. Unlike most campus ducks, wood ducks prefer to keep a healthy distance between themselves and everyone else. So, it's is very difficult to close and photograph these campus friends. But coming around a corner of St. Mary's Lake, two wood ducks males (identified by their colorful heads) were surprised, and as they quickly swam out to the middle of the lake, they were photographed. On being caught by the camera, these two wood ducks cooly non-verbaled, "Tootles."
