...the future President of Notre Dame, Fr. William Corby, CSC, gave General Absolution to the Union's Irish Brigade in the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg. One of only three persons to have the distinct honor of having a statue at the actually battlefield, Fr. Corby has yet another statue commemorating his actions.
