Saturday Squirrel.

Cheese

Our furry friends never fail to amaze us at times, and that is exactly what this squirrel did for one Stedsman. Passing on the north side of the Main Building, Nick Bifone, Steds sophomore and resident New Yorker, encounter a squirrel on the small island of Sorin Circle. Was he waiting for a ride? Was he meeting a friend? Who knows, but whatever he was doing, he was certainly posing with a great back drop. On being in front of the Main Building, this squirrel non-verbaled, "I am getting ready for graduation pictures but I forgot my cap and gown."

Gabe Nanni, Ed Johnson and President Tommy Kelly lead the way...

... gentleman. On the heels of Mom's Weekend, Steds seniors gathered as Edward "Ed" Johnson '84, of now defunct Grace Hall but adopted by Steds through his two sons Stedsmen, Eddie '20 and Ryan '24, came to speak to the soon to be graduates and the newest Alumni, and share his reflections about what Notre Dame means to him today, how it continues to be a part of and shape his life, as well as his life and career experiences. A part of the Gentlemen for Gentlemen series, this Senior Soirée, open only to seniors, didn't disappoint as not only the Steds seniors were able to gather- always a win- but also hear a reflection that truly hit home for those who are about the leave this special place and begin their own careers. On speaking at the inaugural Senior Soirée, Johnson said, "It was an honor for me to visit with a great group of Steds Gentlemen. Belonging to the Steds family assures a very bright future, and I look forward to watching these young men succeed in all they do. Greatness awaits!"

Indeed. No truer words could be said Ed!

Mom's Reunion...

Forever Steds Moms 

... NOVA 2025, and they're loving every second of it! But one is loving it doubly so. Yes, Tina Sansone is a "Steds double dipper" having two sons at Steds which means that Tina belongs not to one but two Steds mom groups. Lucky Tina! Thanks to her sons Patrick '21 and Nick '23, Tina enjoys doubling dipping and continues to do so this very day . Recently, she gathered with other Steds moms from the Northern Virginia area for dinner. Pictured above from left to right are  Michelle Susco (Chris ‘21), Ellen Grealish (Keegan ‘23), Linda Lynch (Mike ‘23), and Tina Sansone (Patrick ‘21 and Nick ‘23). On the evening, Tina shared, "I am very grateful to Steds and the Mom’s Weekend for introducing me to these amazing moms from both Patrick’s class and Nick’s class!  We get together as the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Sted’s Moms, and, occasionally, we include the NOVA Sted’s Dads!"

When it rains...

April showers bring...

... it pours. Yes, that's exactly what happened when it rained recently, it poured. So much rain fell that campus experienced varying degrees of flooding with some residence halls even springing leaks. It rained so much and with such intensity that one could not see Washington Hall from Steds. And if that wasn't enough, then we had a number of tornado sirens go off later in the evening. While Steds had no damage nor leaks, because they just don't build them as they used to, we did experience our own inconvenience. What was it? Well, St. Edward's Park experienced flooding, closing several sidewalks paths on the east and west sides of the Hall. On the recent rains, a University groundkeeper shared, "Campus held up pretty well, but there are some real problems to deal with. But there are some winners in all of this... the ducks. They got more places to swim about."

Hard times...

Grubhub: We got a problem

... are just getting harder. Yes, hard times for our non-biologicals are just getting harder and harder. First, it was losing a wheel in a rough part of campus, and then, it was aimlessly circling the lakes in some attempt to deliver a phantom cheeseburger. What next? Well, this Grubhub Starship was spotted parked next to a drain. Making a delivery, or wishing to flush it all down the drain for sweet release? Who knows what this non-biological was computing, but whatever it was, it didn't look good. On the recent hard times for the Grubhub Starships, Maggie Pulte, Ryan Hall freshman and resident Floridian, shared, "Looks like someone is not getting their food. No fooling."
