They spoke...

New washers AND...

…and somebody listened. It was true. The Steds washers and driers were on their proverbial last wash and dry cycles, and Stedsmen, who had grasped the skill of doing their own laundry, were in serious risk of having to go to Zahm, more likely Cavanaugh, to do their laundry. But when all seemed lost, a moving truck appeared one day, whisking away the old machines and leaving new ones. It all seemed like a miracle, but it wasn’t. Instead, somebody had heard the polite complaints, wishes, and sighs of the Stedsmen. On having new washers and driers, an unnamed Stedsman said, “From one unknown person to another unknown person, ‘Thank you.’”
