It may have...

Shaia (in brown quarter zip) celebrating the big two, one...

... been Mental Health Monday (MHM), but tonight, MHM was put on hiatus so that a celebration could be had. That's right, it was time to celebrate our MHM leader, Harry Shaia, and his birthday! It's not everyday that someone turns twenty-one! Harry was given the night off from prepping and leading MHM so he could be feted by his fellow Stedsmen with Jersey Mike's sandwiches, banter, and birthday well wishes, and thoughts about tomorrow's accounting test. Yup, Shaia has a belated birthday gift, an accounting test tomorrow. On celebrating his birthday, Shaia stated, “I can only think of one better way to celebrate my birthday than with my friends in St. Ed’s- doing so without a 7 am accounting midterm the next morning!”

Happy Birthday Harry!

There was nothing...

Karting on a Saturday...

... to watch on TV as it was a bye weekend for the ND football team, but all eyes at Steds were glued to the Flounge's TV screen. Organized by Lou Rauch, Steds senior and 4th floor RA, a Mario Kart tourney was held. Playing for individual glory, it was every gentleman for himself. Senior against freshman, junior against sophomore, it truly was every Stedsman for himself, battling it out over a two hour period. But in the end, it was seniority that carried the day, literally, as a senior won, the very one who organized the competition, Rauch! Suffice it to say, but a few eyebrows were raised. Just saying. Second and third places went to juniors, Jack Brodie and VP Andrew Kolodychak respectively, and rounding out in fourth place was freshman Conor Rezner. On the win, Rauch shared, "Maybe we should try a different game next time?"

Your Sunday picture...

Fall has arrived...

... from Notre Dame. Here is a view of the northeast end of St. Mary Lake from the deck of the Peace Prayer Plaza. This early morning view captures the arrival of fall colors but also the lake losing its heat, hence the fog over the water. This process will continue until all the heat of the lake is gone, making freezing and the forming of ice possible. Enjoy this scene and enjoy your Sunday wherever you may be!

Saturday squirrel.

On the lookout

Once again, our furry friends are taking a break, and it was a good thing they were. Why? Because today's campus friend was looking for them, to take them out to lunch. Spotted in the tree behind Steds, this red tail hawk was on the look out for our furry friend as his lunch. Thankfully, they kept a very low profile, and this hawk went away in search of another meal. On coming up empty, this hawk non-verbaled, "Good. They're high in cholesterol."

Fall Break...

PTK and crew: Fall Breaking

... may be over, but what a break it was. Wherever the Stedsmen went, to home, a beach or beyond, they found a respite from books, papers, the Hall’s study lounges... and even presidential duties So, where did they go? What did they do? Why did they go? Because inquiring minds want to know! Well, today we hear from one Gentleman, who, along with his fellow Stedsmen, made the trek out to MetLife Stadium to the Irish take on Navy. On his Fall Break, President Tommy Kelly (PTK), Steds President and resident Ne Yorker, said, "Even the president needs a break from his constituents and his issuing of executive orders."
