… those on vacation in Europe. Yes, there are some who are STILL on vacation in Europe because some are STILL studying abroad. Hard to believe, but it’s true. Could there be that much study to do in Europe? One person who is still "at the books" is Stedsman Nate Fellman, who is studying in Heidelberg, Germany. While all of his fellow Stedsmen have returned from their three month European vacations, Fellman continues... all the way to the end of July! But don’t cry for Fellman because Deutschland is taking care of him, especially when it comes to liquid refreshment. During his time away, Fellman has enjoyed fantastic German beer, and without any doubt, it’s been an aid of sorts as it loosens the tongue, helping one to speak a better German. On his enjoyment of German beer, Nate’s mom said, “It's not just blessing but also a necessity because yakking in Deutsch all day long has to make him thirsty."

What are they...
... doing? Yes, what are our Stedsmen doing now that they no longer have classes to attend, papers to procrastinate writing, nor any thing else for that matter? Indeed, what are they doing this summer?! Well, some are enjoying a bit of studying abroad as well as leisure time in Ireland. A trio of Stedsmen, Drew McClimon, Kyle Bass, and Eoghan Fay are all in Ireland, touring about yes… but learning nevertheless. On summering in Ireland, McClimon shared, "We all had the luck of the Irish to win the residence hall lottery and be in Steds, but I never would’ve thought that the Irish people would have the luck of hosting the Stedsmen."

What's going at
More to come
... at campus? Curious? Well, a lot of things. New buildings are going up, like the new research building over by McCourtney Hall, while others, like Alumni Hall, are being renovated. But something is happening at Steds! Yes, something is happening in the second lounge, the Gregorian Lounge. What's happening? Well, you'll just have to stay tuned. On the second floor happenings, Fr. Ralph said, "I can't wait until it's all done. The kids are going to love it, really."

What are they...
... doing? Yes, what are our Stedsmen doing now that they no longer have classes to attend, papers to procrastinate writing, nor any thing else for that matter? Indeed, what are they doing these days?! Well, one Stedsman is enjoying some leisure time in merry old England. Before heading off to his summer internship, Michael Lynch, former Steds President and rising senior, visited England with his family, and while there, he made a stop to Westminster Abbey. While there, he paid his respects to none other than St. (King) Edward! With its foundation laid by St. Edward, the abbey is where he is buried.
Still, another Stedsman was in London, Cullen Geahigan, and while there, he saw the Crown of St. Edward. St Edward's Crown is the centrepiece of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. Named after Edward the Confessor, it has been traditionally used to crown English and British monarches at their coronations since the 13th century. On seeing the crown, Geahigan said, "Could we get one for Steds?"

They're getting married!
It's true. They're getting married! Ryan Masjak '15, Stedsman, and Anatasia Evanich '15 are to be married this August at Old St. Mary's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Congratulations and best wishes to Ryan and Anatasia respectively! More to come. On their upcoming nuptials, John Wetzel ‘16, Stedsman and a recently married man, said, "Ryan and Anastasia were a match you could see coming from all the way across the quad. We've all thought they'd marry...even before they were dating! It's great to see them make it official!"

Saturday squirrel.
Our furry friends are taking a break this week so that another campus neighbor can have the spotlight. Who's stepping in this Saturday? Chipmunks. Like the squirrels, chipmunks are all over the place, doing whatever it is that they do. While they are always scurrying about, sometimes you see them taking a break, and that was the case with this chipmunk. Spotted in St. Edward's Park, this chipmunk took a break in the fence outside of Steds. On being spotted taking a break, this chipmunk non-verbaled, "I have a lot to do before my next nut."

It's official!
Yes, they got married! It's true. This gentleman has a heart as big as his home state of Texas, and this lady is at the heart of it all, just like Ohio, her home state. John Wetzel '16 and Kelsey Kilbane of OSU were married at the St. Patrick’s Church in Cleveland, Ohio, making a most beautiful day even more beautiful. With Fr. Ralph witnessing and surrounded by their families and friends, Kelsey and John exchanged theirs vows with joy and happiness- and a good deal of emotion too. On Kelsey marrying into the Steds Family, Michael Flannigan '16, best man and Rhode Islander, shared, "This weekend Kelsey joined the Steds family with her wedding to Wetzel. Like the other brothers in our family she was welcomed through the proverbial doors by Fr Ralph. She'll be a strong addition and should help our stats significantly in alumni dorm sporting events."

What is happening...
Requiescat in pace: Subway
... at La Fortune? Yes, what is all the construction about? Well, the campus Subway has left the building, making way for a new eatery. Why the departure? Well, Subway, a long time favorite among students, just wasn't fresh as it once was. A causality of more discerning and demanding palates, Subway now joins Burger King, Buen Provecho, and Sbarro on the heap of abandoned and discarded campus eateries. What will replace Subway? Well, you'll just have to stay tuned. On the new eatery, an unnamed University official stated, "The students are going to love it... I guarantee it!"

What are they...
... doing? Yes, what are our Stedsmen doing now that they no longer have classes to attend, papers to procrastinate writing, nor any thing else for that matter? Indeed, what are they doing these days?! Well, one Stedsman is enjoying some leisure time with friends while taking in NHL Western Conference Final. A native Coloradan, Jake Buckendorf, is pulling for his Avalanche, who, if they defeat the Houston Oilers, will be in playing in the Championship and the Stanley Cup, something they haven't done since 2001. On the Avalanche taking the first game on the conference final, Buckendorf shared , "Rocking the Steds threads in the Western Conference Finals, it's what you do. Go Steds, Go Irish, Go America, and... GO AVS!"
